Smoothies are life-changers…
They’re available in different colors: green, red, yellow, purple, etc.
But regardless of their colors and ingredients, they all share one common characteristic: they change lives by promoting health and nourishing your body with essential vitamins, minerals, and fiber.
The nourishing and detoxifying properties of smoothies and their amazing weight loss benefits have inspired many health specialists to develop diets just based on smoothies. The Green Smoothie Detox and The Red Smoothie Detox diets are the two most popular examples of these diets.
These kinds of smoothie diets may work for some people for the meanwhile, but for most people thy’ll never work in the long haul. They can help you lose some pounds in a short period of time, feel more energetic, and improve skin tone and smoothness. But these amazing result are not going to last for a long time and a few weeks after the completion of the diet plan things gradually start to go wrong again.
In fact, smoothies are not meant to, and should not, be replaced with healthy and clean carb-and-protein-rich meals, but they should be used in conjunction with a healthy and clean diet to promote health and nourish your body with essential vitamins, minerals, and fiber.
Below is a short list of four basic steps which would help you to keep your body clean and healthy:
- Avoid junk foods as much as possible. Junk foods are the main sources of toxins and eliminating them from our diets reduces the burden of work our bodies need to do to get rid of toxins.
- Drink lost of water each day. Water flushes accumulated wastes and toxins out of the body. Just drink as much water your body needs to avoid water intoxication and the potential dangers of overhydration.
- Exercise on a regular basis. Exercise helps your lungs and kidneys to release toxins and also helps you lose weight, prevent heart disease, increase energy, etc.
- Keep an eye on your bowel functions. Make sure they’re working at their optimum efficiency. The groundbreaking studies show that an unhealthy and toxic colon is the main root of 80% of all diseases and discomfort. So it’s important to keep it healthy and clean. Below, I’ve curated a large list of my favorite detox smoothie recipes. You can incorporate them in your daily diet in any way you like it. I prefer to use smoothies the first thing in the morning to kick start my day and make sure it’s a good one!

It’s especially a great option to consider after a holiday when your body is loaded with toxins and additives. The main ingredients of this recipe are almond milk, Greek yogurt (or regular yogurt), and spinach.
